Phaeo Para Awareness Day 2022
- PHAEO PARA AWARENESS WEEK (22-26 AUGUST)The last full week of August has been adopted as the awareness week for our diseases and we are organising a few activities to try to highlight the symptoms of phaeo para patients to raise awareness and encourage earlier diagnosis:
- Write your story. Stories are always popular, so please check out the website for examples and to download a template to help you write yours. Poems are also accepted.
- Symptom Selfie Option. We have developed two ‘dictionary explainer images’ and ask that you take a selfie with one or both posters if they apply to you:
- Video Option. Use the appropriate poster and video yourself listing the symptoms you experienced (keep the light in front of you, with a plain background, and try to minimise wobbling. List only symptoms related to your phaeo/para). Videos should be no longer than 30 seconds long. They will be edited together to form a longer video
- Artistic photo. Simply take a photo of something (e.g., a cactus!) that describes how you felt about:
- Symptoms
- Diagnosis
- Treatment, or
- Living with pheo para
Once you’ve finished your contribution to the campaign, please send them to jo.grey@amend.org.uk by Friday 12th August. Thanks!
